It’s our Winter Wildlife Appeal! Can you help?
Ski season in the Snowies sadly heralds our peak season for wildlife rescue.
Kangaroo, wallaby, wombat and possum joeys are often orphaned, having been retrieved from the pouch of their recently killed mother via motor vehicle accident (MVA). Nocturnal birds and other native creatures also often fall victim in this way.
Rescued joeys are bottle fed around the clock and cared for 24/7 by our trained and licensed volunteer wildlife carers. Wildlife rescued by LAOKO are rehabilitated to be released back into their natural habitat.
LAOKO is a 100% volunteer run wildlife rescue group and must rely on fundraising, grants and the generosity of the public for donations – we do not receive regular funding.
Your donation, however big or small, is funnelled directly back into the rehabilitation of our rescues. We must purchase items for wildlife care such as bottles, teats, specialised marsupial milk formula, cages, enclosures etc.

Our Snowy Mountains wildlife thanks you!
LAOKO is an incorporated association, and is a registered charity with Australian Charities and Not For Profits Commission (ACNC). Donations are currently not tax deductible yet but we’re working on it! Charitable Fundraising Number: CFN/26110
