Snowy Mountains Wildlife Rescue LAOKO Inc is extremely busy all year round. Rescue and euthanasia call outs for wildlife involved in a motor vehicle accident (MVA) on highways and roads leading to our snow resorts and surrounding towns.
Kangaroo, wallaby, wombat and possum joeys are often orphaned, having been retrieved from the pouch of their recently killed mother (via MVA). Joeys are bottle fed around the clock and cared for 24/7 by LAOKO’s trained and licenced volunteer wildlife carers. LAOKO needs your help to ensure our rescued native animals are given the best chance at rehabilitation.
