2022 AGM, new website member area
Our Annual General Meeting took place on Saturday 27 August. We’d like to thank all members who took the time to attend via Zoom. Our executive team has been confirmed for the next year as follows:
- President – Lisa Petroff
- Vice President – expressions of interest may be obtained by emailing laokosmwr@gmail.com.
- Secretary – Michael Milne
- Treasurer – Robyn George
- HSEQ – Guy Palframan
We would like to thank outgoing Vice President, Elena Guarracino, for her tireless work in this role over many years. Many thanks to the other executive members listed above for continuing for another year.
In her presentation, Lisa acknowledged the many people and organisations that have, in the last year, helped us in our quest to rescue and rehabilitate wildlife. The Department of Primary Industries provided a grant for koalas; Essential Energy gave funds for training materials; the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife helped vaccinate our carers against Q fever; Humane Society International contributed to our wombat mange program; and WIRES helped vaccinate our bat carers against lissavirus. On top of that, local clothing label Snuxe contributed to our koala efforts and Lush Handmade Soaps helped us treat wombats. Further, our local Return & Earn bottle recycling campaign is going great; our Mother’s Day raffle was a success; and our collection tins across the region continue to go strong. Lastly, but so importantly, Lisa thanked our LAOKO volunteers who contribute their time any way they can, as well as the many individuals who’ve donated. You all make the natural world a better place!
