Rescuing and caring for the native wildlife of the Snowy Monaro
Snowy Mountains Wildlife Rescue (LAOKO) is an independently operated, 100% volunteer run not-for-profit wildlife rehabilitation organisation based in the Snowy Monaro Region of NSW. We operate a year-round emergency wildlife rescue service for sick/injured/orphaned wildlife and a region-wide wombat mange treatment program.
Our organisation receives no recurrent government funding and relies on the kind generosity of the public for donations/bequests and support. This along with our own fundraising initiatives enables our trained volunteers to rehabilitate native wildlife ensuring that they have the best chance of recovery before being returned to their natural environment.
We cannot achieve this without your help!

Snowy Mountains Wildlife Rescue (LAOKO) acknowledges the Ngarigo people as the Traditional Custodians of the Country on which we rescue, rehabilitate and release native wildlife. We recognise their continuing cultural connections to the land, waterways, wildlife and skies above. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
